FAQ

Common questions.

Practical guidance for referrals, expectations, and how assessment pathways are typically structured.

How does the assessment process work?
01
Referral and intake: We clarify the referral question, scope, and reporting requirements to guide planning.

02
Assessment sessions: Structured clinical interview plus validated measures appropriate to the question.
Where relevant and consented, collateral may be considered.

03
Scoring and integration: Results are interpreted in context and integrated into a coherent clinical picture,
with attention to reliability and limitations.

04
Reporting: Clear, structured written reporting aligned to the referral question, with clinically grounded guidance where applicable.

Is more than one assessment sometimes needed?

Yes. In many referrals, the clearest clinical answer requires more than one measure or domain to be assessed.
This can include (for example) cognitive testing alongside symptom measures, functional screening, or collateral-informed interpretation,
depending on the question and reporting requirements.

What should I include in a referral enquiry?

Include the referral question, the context (clinical / educational / medico-legal / workplace), any deadlines,
and whether written reporting is required (and for whom). If there are specific decision-points the report needs to support,
mention these upfront so the assessment scope can be aligned correctly.

How are bookings and timelines handled?

Bookings are managed via phone and email to ensure the correct pathway and scope. Timelines depend on the referral question,
the measures required, and reporting needs. Once the scope is clarified, we’ll advise on the expected structure and next steps.
